Spider is feeling better now, I think. I haven't seen much of him today because I've been struck down with what I thought was the same thing but is now looking more like flu.

I didn't really have weekend plans, luckily, but what provisional hazy ones I was hatching are now off. And I have to work out how to fit 2 days of marking, 2 days of shopping, one day of housework and one outing to London into the remaining time before Christmas. Can't be done, can it?

My mother kindly booked to take the teen monkeys and me to the Egyptian Book of the Dead exhibition at the British Museum on Tuesday. I'd love to go, but it's not looking that likely. If she can't rearrange it and the teens are healthy, is there anyone who'd like to go in my place? Mum would pay for your ticket and I would pay for your train fare, but the catch is you need to travel with the teen monkeys. I'm hoping it won't come to that, but it would be good to hear if anyone's interested.

would I have to accompany them back on the train, or could I put them on train and make sure it left?
If the latter, it's eminently doable! (Weather permitting)

also, mea culpa for skimreading: BOO to you being ill! Sympathies (from a distance). Anything I can help with closer to home?

Best to stay away and avoid germs, I think. Putting them on the train home would probably be enough, if Musique can meet them here. We'll just have to see how things go over the next few days, but thanks for the offer. I suppose it also depends on ticket conditions as they travel very cheap with a railcard holder--not sure what happens if they and the railcard part company...

I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope it goes away soon. Let me know if I can do anything.
PS P says Jan 1st is good for D & D.

Thank you. Jan 1st looks free here too, and should give us time to recover.

definitely worth checking the railcard conditions (though would I have to impersonate you?)
Am not 100% against coming back with them but have a dinner invitation for Tuesday in London which didn't make sense if that was the only thing I was travelling for, but would be fab if I could package monkeys To Be Called For and stay in town!
If that makes sense, your brain clearly not affected by lurgy.

Can certainly help out with e.g. shopping if given clear instructions -- is cold enough to deliver to back garden and leave quarantine intact :)

Excellent. I shall put it in the diary. (I'm away for Mon, Tue and part of Wed, but if you and the younger monkeys fancy coming round for hopping vampires on Thur or Fri, just say the word.)

Hopping vampires would be lovely. But all my plans are in flux just now as tomorrow's trip to London may get postponed to any of the later days depending on snow here and in Sussex. Will keep in touch.
