A reminder please to take care when dropping off / picking up students by car. Radegund Road is especially busy at both ends of the school day and the cycle lanes and speed reducing measures provide hazards for pedestrians and cyclists alike.

Monkey Federation Academies send out a lot of messages like this, especially since they renamed the English department as Communications and Media.  But if you've seen Radegund Road lately, you may thing this one is meant to say exactly what it does.

This simply provides further evidence to back up the theory that I have adhered to for a very long time (probably since I started writing for a living way back in the 1980s)... "The world is full of people who think they can write. Most of them are wrong."

Apropos of nothing else, I was sitting here at my desk while the Small Person was watching some BBC documentary about rainforests in the background. And I hear David Attenborough intone solemnly, "Spider monkeys and squirrel monkeys are always the first animals to come seeking this bounty of food, and their raucous cries can be heard for many kilometers."

Needless to say, I thought of you! :)

Hee :)
That used to be very true but Mr Attenborough is a bit behind the times. I suggest a minor update.

Spider monkeys and squirrel monkeys are always the last animals to tear themselves away from the game consoles. Their raucous cries of 'Get that Nazi zombie!' and 'Grow up Milo: you've got to die sometime.' can be heard from many rooms away, almost drowning out their parents' increasingly desperate attempts to coax them towards the bounty of food.
