GOOD
1. Persuaded Fruitcake it might be safe to eat a pellet of cheddar rolled enticingly across the floor (but not actually towards her, which would be scary). It had a pill in it.
2. Think I have found kitten. There's a litter in Colchester that we're going to see on Saturday, on our way(ish) to Sussex. I have my eye on one of two ginger and white boys, but will go for one of the others if it decides to scramble up me on arrival. If I reserve one on Saturday, I can can collect him/her/it on March 6th...
3. tamaranth is back and has enticed me to distractions in town tomorrow. Sadly this means...

BAD
1. I need to stop looking at kittens on the internet and Do Lots of Marking today.

Looking at it again, if 2 works out well--and kitten lady sounded like the best kind of cat nut on the phone, so I'm hopeful--then the sum total is very good indeed.

The report on Colchester kitten viewing will probably have to wait until I get home from Sussex.

Oh, good luck with the kitten-picking. I'm glad you're considering boys. I was always a female-animal fan, but Pippin has the best ever personality!

I've always had females, but I like the idea of a boy this time as it'll be something new and I won't be comparing so much with Zil that way.

Being outnumbered by male humans, I want at least one female animal in the household, but I suppose Fruitcake will do for now. Of course, the monkey boys want a boy kitten. They also want to name it M'Fashnik, which isn't going to happen. Probably.

Um, it appears she ate TOO well yesterday... After gobbling a whole pouch of gushy food in about an hour (and you've read enough of my posts to know how out of character that was), she was sick all evening and hasn't eaten a thing since. The vet says not to worry too much but to bring her in on Tuesday if she's still not eating. The lovely tamaranth will be visiting her while we're away, offering food and pills, monitoring consumption, and generally putting the fear of Oz into her.
I hope some of it is just loneliness. She was accosted in her basket by the vet's cat and actually seemed to welcome the company! Apes are just not good enough...
