Monkey House of Plague, Episode Way Too Many

Spider is off to Norfolk on Wednesday for three days strenuous walking, backpack carrying, and camping. That is, we hope he is...

This morning, he found a lump under his ear. Isn't it lucky we live near the doctor's? We'll be back there again for blood tests tomorrow afternoon: suspected glandular fever.

Given the way my imagination works, glandular fever isn't too bad. But it's probably not what you want to pack for a 10 mile hike.

Hey ho. Now to go downstairs and help him pack all the kit we shopped for at the weekend into an old backpack from student days. Then we wait and see if he's well enough to carry it to school for the practice run tomorrow.

Argh! All fingers crossed it isn't GF. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

He seems pretty perky this morning. Whatever it is, he seems to have it fairly mildly, at least at the moment.

Fingers and toes and eyes crossed! Seriously, hope it turns out to be nothing, and he's able to go on his hike and have a wonderful adventure!

Thanks! We'll see how he does with getting the backpack to and from school. Blood tests tonight, then off to Norfolk tomorrow if all goes well...

It's supposed to be "a plague on both your houses," not "both plagues on your house." Gah!

I know! Should be grateful none of it is serious, but I could still do with a break from plaguey stuff soon.
