Back to the vet (again)
Jun. 6th, 2011 11:38 amWoke at 5am to the sound of a cat throwing up. Humbug produced a furball the size of his head, along with some of last night's dinner. Cleaned up. Went back to sleep. Alarm went off. Staggered down for breakfast...
Humbug clearly not himself. No interest in breakfast, hunched, limping, shunning apes, generally miserable kitty. Combed another head's worth of fluff out of him, then noticed his ears were hot, which is a sign of cat temperature, so off to the drop-in at the vet.
Turns out his temp is sky high (40.5 and 42 is fatal), so at least I did the right thing getting him seen. He's had a shot of antibiotics and pills twice a day--some kind of cat nurofen to bring down the temp--and instructions to go back on Weds. It seems to be working. He's still very floppy but his purr is working again and he likes being gently fussed. Leicester is puzzled and fed up. He wants to play outside, but he hates to be on his own.
Now how much marking can I get done before I need to take Spider to his dyslexia tutor?
Before all that, Squirrel's 13th birthday yesterday went well. It was just family because his party is booked for later on. He was busy internet shopping with his birthday money, but I expect he'll find an annoying video to post for you all soon.
