We found a house we really liked but it took us a long time to realise as it's on a busy road and this was high on our list of don'ts. But it was perfect in all other ways and we decided to go for it today. But 2 other people put offers on this morning. They are both cash buyers and offering over the asking price. We don't stand a chance.

Partly to get a bigger garden now we have less need to be close to the Monkey Academy. So cats will gain too, possibly. Though they think they have a big garden now: it just has lots of handy raised walkways crisscrossing it.

It was very quiet before Christmas but now seems to be a weird mix of few houses for sale, fewer mortgages, but lots of cash buyers.

That's good to hear. One of the things I really want is a proper garden like yours, with living space that opens onto it. What squirrel mainly wants is a TV like yours :)

Squirrel would be welcome to it (it's too big) but he'll have to fight the marquis.
But seriously, more houses will be coming onto the market from now on, so things are sure to start turning up.
