[livejournal.com profile] musique_monkey is starting to feel better.  He's going to be exhausted and breathless for a long time, and need to rest a lot, but he's in less pain and recovers faster when he does tire himself out.  Thank you for all the good wishes and help.  Sorry if I haven't had time to respond to everyone.

Spider is feeling positive about Long Road, even the Long Bike Ride.  We found out a bit more about Hills Road admissions.  Seems they were overwhelmed with applicants for Sciences this year.  Normally, they look at your best 8 predicted grades--including Maths and Eng Lang--and make you an offer if you have 6 As.  Spider has 6 As, though actually getting them is of course a whole nother challenge.  This year for Sciences, they are making offers only to people who are predicted 8 As so Spider, and many like him are out.
I can't fault the logic, but it seems a fairly crap way of recruiting the best scientists, since only 4 of those 8 As are going to be for Maths and Sciences.  And because one of the As has to be English Lang, it's a pretty clear statement that they're not interested in anyone with significant dyslexia, however brilliant he/she may be at Maths or Science.  There is no way in the known universe that Spider could ever get an A for English Language.  (Correction: no legal way.)  I expect Long Road Science dept will be rubbing their hands in glee.

The monkey house is well on the way to being packed up, with sterling help from [livejournal.com profile] tamaranth and [livejournal.com profile] ladymoonray yesterday, and [livejournal.com profile] la_marquise_de_ plus marquis today.  Monkeycats appear to be self-packing, but also self-unpacking.  Monkey boys are very good at stacking boxes.

I'm going to pack the computer today.  We'll still have internet and laptop for a while, but I don't suppose I'll be posting or replying until we're set up in the new place.

Have a good Easter!

8 As is going to favour the private schools, which is... well, not ideal.
But I'm glad that Spider is feeling more positive.
See you later.

I'm so glad he's better. Oh what a month you're having! I hope that soon you'll be settled in the new house and that everyone can rest and things will calm down.

8 As is a lot!

Speedy has repacked himself, couple of days out and about, couple of days not moving more than 6" from the box. I'm glad you warned me that he didn't really have normal behaviour :-)

Very glad to hear Musique is getting better, and that the move is still on-track. Keeping on with the move under the circumstances is quite a feat.

Glad to know MM is better, and I do hope the new school works out well. How exciting that you're moving! A fresh start is always invigorating. Positive vibes wafting your way from the left coast. ;)
