Leicester has peeed!

If that doesn't sound like great news, then you need to catch up on earlier posts here.

When we went to move him from the cat-carrier to the crate, the towel that was under him in the carrier was soaking wet.  Definitely a whole bladder full there.  So surgery and 6 weeks cage rest it is, and a good chance of a fully functional Leicester at the end of the proces.

Yay!

Also, does this mean he gets to stay home all weekend and not go to the vet for bladder visits?

We are absolutely delighted about cat pee. Which is not a scenario I had ever envisaged.

Yay! [Let] Go Leicester! Pee everywhere! *rejoices*

Do we know yet if he's okay on the poo front? I remember you said earlier that might be a problem...

*goes back to dancing, after brief moment of anxiety and doubt*

He will have trouble pooing until he's had his surgery but it's not expected to be a long term issue. We await his first poo with some trepidation. If it hasn't arrived by Monday morning he will go back to the vet for a tummy squeeze and possible liquid paraffin. But this is just about his short-term comfort, not long term survival like the wee was.
Thanks for worrying though.

And across the world from East to West there was joyous acclaim! Leicester peed! :D

I'm very glad the boy did. And hugs for you all!

I have been following the saga, and I'm so glad to hear that Leicester peed. That sentence does not sound strange, at all, to cat people. Hallelujah and hugs ♥

Oh wow, I am totally not up on the whole story but as nursemaid and slave to ailing Kitty I relate so hard. As djarum said - not strange at all. Yay Leicester!!!

That is wonderful news to wake up to! Thanks for keeping Leicester's Army updated on the news ...
I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this -- and very sorry for poor Leicester, too, such a sweet kitty. Do please shout if there's anything I can do to help, even if it's just visiting to administer wine.

thank you. We are now looking at 6 weeks of Leicester caged and increasingly frustrated, so visits to distract and entertain either of us will be very welcome soon I'm sure.

6 weeks of caged frustrated kitty *so* much better than alternative though.

Am werking in Bury St E Mon / Wed / Thu (as I discovered on Friday!) so you are very nearly on my way back - Monday tricky but would a visit Weds or Thurs be convenient?

Depends who you're visiting. Leicester's op is scheduled for Wednesday and he won't be home until Thurs or later depending on how long he needs to be on injection pain relief. So he would appreciate a visit next week more than this week. But I would be happy to see you on Weds.

Glad to be useful!
I did wonder if that carrier, well-marked as it is by Horus and his accidents, might smell nice and tempting...

Do you need it back this week for The Adventures of Ish's Insides? A is going to the allotment today so could easily drop it off if you do. If you don't, it would be very helpful to have it a while longer.

We will probably need it at some point, but not till later in the week. So do hang on to it for the moment.
