bloody cats
Remember when we were desperately waiting for Leicester to pee? well that was when I noticed my bladder hurt and I kept needing the loo. I put it down to feline telepathy and ignored it. which is why I wasted Thursday and Friday laid up with a bladder infection. Getting better now but I hold cats entirely responsible.
At least Leicester has been helping by spending hours on my lap. (the only thing he's allowed out of the cage for is lap-sitting so he's suddenly very keen on laps.) if humbug comes in from outside while Leicester is on my lap they sniff noses and exchange news. nice to see them on friendly terms again though humbug won't do it when Leicester is in his tiger cage.

Speedy must have heard you discussing his hibernation habits - he has not eaten substantially for the last six days. Tortoise bedtime soon?

I don't think it's a big switch-off like mammal hibernation, more just an extreme form of the temperature-velocity balancing he does all the time. Even when he's in the ground he seems to vary his depth to follow temperature drops and rises. Strange beast.
